Bye Bye Lee-Anne

I was super sad to find out yesterday that Lee-Anne's last day at work would be today =(

It totally sucks ass. We had some good times at work. There were always lots of giggles and I will miss our morning chats before everyone else got there.

She loves the gorgeous KK gurls as much as I do, so I just had to make a card with one of them on it.

I hope she is happy as she moves onto bigger and better things.

Well I didnt get 365 projects done this year but I did get 250 done which is a great amount =)

I will do it again for 2012. Maybe I will end up doing more then 250 =)

Stay'cation

Well .. my stay'cation is coming to an end :( One more day and then its back to work. I took the week off to Christmas shop and do stuff around the house. I shopped on average of 4-8 hrs per day. I'm totally exhausted and my feet are killing me. I only have 2 gifts left to buy =) I even bought myself some prezzies .. some new hoop earrings and a new dinette set. It doesn't come til Dec 12th. I was excited to get the snowmen out. I wont set the tree up til we are well into December. Here are some pics of the snowmen and the new dinette set.

Justin in our back yard making his version of an Inukshuk. He had a ton of fun making this.

I put TA glimmer screens - winter crystals screens on the blue cardstock and sprayed the entire surface with TA marshmallow glimmer mist. The paper is sooooo full of sparkles. It was hard to get a good picture of being able to see the snowflakes in the background but IRL it sure looks nice. There is hidden journalling behind the 2 pictures.

Snowflake Ornaments

Last year I came across this on Splitcoaststampers and figured I just had to make them for my Christmas tree.

After Christmas last year, ornaments were on sale of course and I bought 4 boxes of 18 red balls. Must have been in a very ambitious mood .. lol

I got the balls out this afternoon and tackled figure this out. Well an hour later I have one done .. lol. I tried the 2 way glue and it didn't work that well. I then tried CTMH Liquid Glass which worked perfectly. I glittered up my black cardstock with glimmer mist and started cutting out snowflakes with my MS snowflake punch.

I sure hope the rest go well but I'm not in the mood to make anymore today.

1 down 17 to go ... at least from one box anyways .. lol

I was in a total WOW mood when I made these .. lol

I sooo wish you could see these IRL. They are very sparkly. I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Marshmallow and of course used some stickles.

I dug out the Cuttlebug and some Christmas embossing folders. I even cut out those trees and pop dotted them up.

I got scrappy again this afternoon :D Gotta love being on holidays =) I usually only do 1 picture on a LO but amazingly put 3 on this one!!! This is me in the LO, I'm working on my All About Me Album. I wish I knew the year these pics were taken. I know it was at my grandma's house and I'd say I was probably about 3 or 4 years old.

After I finished the LO, I went and checked who's lollypop flowers I used and was shocked to see that they were the flowers Erin made for our lollipop flower swap. That made me smile extra big today. Thank you Erin for making great flowers that worked perfectly with my LO =)

I'm gonna have to find a new place to take these pics .. you cant really tell by the pic but I did put glitter on all those black lines .. it sure sparkles IRL =)

Lisa's LO Challenge

It sure has been a long time since I did a LO. Last Sunday, Lisa challenged us ladies on the board to get scrappy .. to get out those embellies we've been saving and just use them. I was excited to get started and got some prints done and picked up. Had a bad week health wise and didn't get a chance until today to get my LO done.

I was curious as to when the last LO I did was done. Going through my blog to find the last LO I did was actually Sept 21, 2010. When I saw that last LO alot of emotions came along with it. Last year, Lisa secretly asked us to make LO's for our friend Erin, send them to her and she would make a package up and send it to Erin. This LO is the one I made for Erin. I never labelled it on the blog for Erin b/c I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Here is the LO.

Hi'yall

Its been a couple (three to be exact) weeks since I last posted. I've been in transition and not very motivated to get scrappy. I've bought a new computer ... a laptop =) It's been a process to transfer everything over from the old computer to this one and to learn all the differences. Everything is new and located in a different area. It's been a bit challenging to figure out how to do things that were so easy to do on the other computer (attaching documents, finding where the saved document went - lol, downloading this and that). Tonight I finally got all my digi stamps loaded up on the laptop and found their new location. Now, just to install the printer so I can print the images.

I've also been doing a photo challenge ... you can see the pics with this link. I've enjoyed being out and about again taking pictures. Way to many to upload here as well.

"Dimes from Heaven"

As most of you already know my uncle was in the hospital recently. There were a couple things that happened over the course of those days that make me think about what happens to people once they pass away.

It was a Monday morning, I went to work at my usual time (6:30am). I put my bags down, took my jacket off, turned the computer on. Then I could hear a woman sobbing in the cubicle behind mine. Now, we sit in a pod of 4, so there is me and Lee-Anne, then Shelley and Randy behind us. I thought oh my Lee-Anne's here early this morning something must have happened on the way to work for her to be crying. I walked to the back cubicle and there was no one there. I thought that's weird. It kinda freaked me out for a second but then I went on my way and made coffee, surfed the net. Once people started coming to work, I told them the story. Because we work in the old DND section of the building and we often here noises back there, we just brushed it off again, thinking that it's haunted by some military people that have passed away.

Later that morning I received a call from my mom stating that my uncle had a heart attack and is in the hospital. After work I headed to the hospital. He was out of surgery, sitting up, joking around, just being himself. I visited for a few hours then headed home. Looked like he would be fine. I got home, relaxed for a bit, then headed to bed. Hospitals seem to make me soooo tired. I laid down in bed, turned the tv on and all of a sudden there it was .. the smell of grandma's perfume .. all in the area of the top of my bed/pillow. It didn't freak me out. I laid there thinking about the day and what's happened. The woman sobbing in the morning I think may have been grandma .. she would have known this was going to happen before any of us and now her perfume smell .. I could only think that either she was trying to tell me that my uncle would be ok or that he has passed away. I didn't sleep well that night. The phone rang Tuesday morning at 4:30 am. My heart was racing when I answered it. It was my mom, my uncle had another heart attack and they have called and requested the family to come. When we got there he was in surgery again. The doctors indicated that he was on Plavix and in 1% of the cases it doesn't work for the patient. It was causing blood clots and one of stints they put in collapsed causing the second heart attack. Once he came out of surgery they decided to intubate and sedate him. We sat and waited and waited and waited. At 2:30 pm he had another heart attack. The doctors rushed him to surgery again only to realize that my uncle was on too many blood thinners and if they operated he would bleed to death. The decided that the only thing they could do was allow that artery to die as the other 3 had no blockages and hopefully this would stop the heart attacks. Everything seemed good and he was stable. We left and went home around 9 pm. I got home, talked to Justin for a bit then headed to bed.

Wednesday, he was still stable and they decided that they would take him off the ventilator at 9pm. My sister and I left the hospital around 8. I got home, talked to Justin a bit then decided to go to bed. I got to the top of the stairs and the phone rang. It was my mom, he had a 4th heart attack about 40 minutes after they took him off the ventilator. At this point I just couldn't deal with it anymore. I couldn't believe all this was happening. Why does someone have 4 heart attacks in 3 days?? I decided to not go back to the hospital. My mom said she would keep me updated. I didn't hear anything over night so YAY!!! I stayed home Thursday b/c I was not feeling well at all.

On Friday, I went to work. I got a call around noon from my aunt staying my mom was in the ER. Are you kidding me??? She had an angina attack, was stressed and fatigued. So, off to the hospital again. My uncle at this point is much better, he's off the ventilator and eating. It amazes me how quickly he seemed back to himself. My mom was released that night. My uncle was released on Monday.

On the Friday, once I knew everyone was ok. I told my aunt Brenda and Peggy, the story about the sobbing woman at work and the smell of grandma's perfume in my room. My aunts, like me both think it was grandma as well. Then my aunt told me a story she heard about called "Dimes from Heaven".

I thought it was an interesting story but how could it be possible for someone who has passed away to actually leave a dime behind. A couple weeks have passed now. Last Sunday, I was cleaning out the bathroom cupboards and spilled Epsom Salt all over the inside of the cupboard. I grabbed some paper towel and started kinda sweeping it together in the middle so I could scoop it up. All of a sudden, I say "no way". I looked closer and sure enough it was a dime. I grabbed my cell phone off the counter and took a picture of the dime. I'm not sure what to really think about it but I suppose it's not impossible .. is it?

Here is the picture of the dime in my cupboard. The picture is not that great as it was taken with my cell and it was pretty dark in the cupboard. I kept the dime of course and put it with grandma's stuff.

On Thursday July 7, 2011 we found out our dear friend Erin lost her battle with cancer and peacefully passed away.

I have to make more effort to open my mail. I did my taxes today and needed to find my RRSP stuff. Hola. I never open my CIBC mail. My filing sucks so I had to open all this just to find what I needed to find. I'm going to log into CIBC online and see if I can not have all these bank statements sent to me by mail. I only need the important stuff. I do all my banking online anyways.

As much as I like to keep things simple, I just had to add something to this card. I was laying in bed thinking of what to add to it. Stars. That was it ... I would add some stars in blue and silver. So, this is now how the card looks.

Still getting use to cutting the images out. I think I'm getting better - lol. I used my new Tim Holtz embossing folder as well .. yay!!. I also pop dotted the image up off the brink but not sure you can tell from the pic once again.

Window Well

ACK!!! I hate water sometimes. We had sooo much snow still in the front yard that when it finally warmed up for a couple days the window well started to take on water. Justin and I had to shovel snow that was up past our knees off the grass and into the parking stalls. Once we had all the snow off the grass we then had to bail the water out of the window well with a bucket. Fun times I tell ya. Couldn't have asked for a better holiday Monday off then that. NOT!!! Thankfully b/c this is considered common property in the condos we live in, it is their responsibility to fix the issue. We've had some water on the inside of the window sill but not sure behind the drywall. They are to look at that too. As you can see they dug out the window well area .. it's about 6 feet open down there .. I suppose that is why they put up the caution tape. Dont need any kids falling in there. Anyhoo .. here are the pics.

At the dental office where I work PT, we always have a ton of kids prizes to give away to them after their appointment. Well, I was looking through what we had and they had these butterflies that you make into one of those styrofoam planes. Well of course I thought I could use it someone on a card or LO. I pop dotted her up off the butterfly but of course didn't capture it in the picture once again .. lol .. I have to remember to do that. I will link it to Flutter By Wednesday who's challenge this week is "open"

Baby Lexi

I made this for baby Lexi.

Kenia and Travis babies were born early .. in Sept .. way before they were to be born. She had twins. Alex and Lexi. Alex weighed 1.8 lbs and Lexi weighed 1.6 lbs. A couple weeks later Alex passed away. He just wasn't strong enough. Lexi however, after many months in the hospital went home on New Years Eve =) What a night to be brought home eh. They are all together in the comforts of home finally. Great way to bring in the new year!!

She's such a cutie =)

It was hard to get a good pic of the frame to post here. Either I could see myself in the frame or the flash was too bright. This is the best the ones I was able to get.

Although the sketch is a "Scribble Sketch" .. I knew right away I could make a card from that sketch .. lol

Later in the day I came across this blog "Flutter By Wednesday" ... a blog of weekly challenges where every time your project must include a butterfly, fairy or angel in addition to the challenge. How perfect considering I LOVE butterflies :D This weeks challenge is "buttons and bows"

Live Laugh Love

I bought these frames from Zellers during one of there 90% off clearances. I knew one day they would come in handy. I bought 10 frames that day for $0.15 each. How could I not stock up at the price!! I removed in pictures that were in the frames as they are totally not something I would use.

My sister asked me to make some frames for her friends birthday. She wanted Live Laugh Love and a humming bird incorporated into the frames. My font is not as big as I would have liked it but it was all my microsoft would allow me. I think they turned out pretty good minus all the finger prints I didn't clean up very well .. oops. I'll have to get that cleaned up right soon. You cant tell from the picture however the humming bird is stamped on the paper and also cut out and pop dotted up.

Lisa's March Cricut Challenge is to make something with at least 3 layers (which fit perfectly into KKKG sketch this week). There was a bonus entry if you make it with a cartridge you have never used before, however, I only own 2 cartridges so ... I know I know ... must invest in more cartridges for the bonus entries - lol. I used the storybook cartridge and cut out the square background with the little holes as well and the pink flowers and the green flowers on a stem.

KKKG challenge this week was to use this sketch.

So here is the sketch and my card. Sorry, I see now that the flower centers are not dry yet .. oops .. lol

Vision Board

I thought long and hard about what I'd like to have happen in the next 5 years.

I made a list (of course) and I spent the week finding pics from magazines and the internet to use on my vision board.

I'm extremely happy with how it came together. Looking at it, the only thing I seem to have missed was adding the date ... I should really add the date ... 2016 as my target date ... I think I will add it to the highway pic somewhere.

Now, to find a place to put it so I will see it everyday. I do have a 12x12 frame upstairs so I think I may put it into that and place it on my dresser or maybe the beside the fireplace in the living room.

My Vision (in random order)
- Healthier lifestyle and diet
- Take some photography classes
- To be happier overall
- Build better relationships with my mom and dad
- Overcome my fear of highway driving
- To be in to be crazy in love/relationship
- To have my line of credit at a zero balance

My 35th Birthday

Well, today is my 35th birthday. Mid 30's already. Man time sure flies by.

So far it has been a great day.

Had breakie with my mom =)

Went to the casino =) ... =(

Received many many many bday wishes from friends and family on FB =)

My boy send me a b-day text (he's at his dads this w/e) =)

I won the KKKG challenge I entered last week =) Got to pick 5 KK stamps and also won a gift certificate to Michelle's Scrapbooking and More =)

I've been talking about doing a vision board the last couple weeks. My vision board will be a 5 year one. Where I want to be and what I want to happen by the time I turn 40 years old.

Now, that I've had my 12 x 12 piece of cardstock out since last night, I realize just how hard it really is. What do I want???? Where do I see myself in 5 years???? So far, this piece of cardstock is pretty darn white - lol. I'm sure it will all come together soon.

I will be sure to share my vision board once it is complete.

Now tonight on the news, they were saying that you need to clear the snow so that the meter readers can get through your yard with ease.

YIKES .. I don't even wanna tackle this back yard.

The snow stopped yesterday afternoon but it suppose to return on Thursday ... just great (insert rolling eyes here).
