Life & LOs

Life has been a little crazy with the last 3 months with lots of ups and downs ... bad news and good news. Finally it seems things have settled down and I'm getting back to my normal routines. As you may or may not know we had to put our cats downs within a day of each other. They were both very sick. Hal asked me to do him an album of the cats so I am of course. I was going to his and my album together but I decided against it. I just want to get his done then work on mine. Here are some LOs I did today. I couldn't believe I got 4 done today .. it was very exciting :D Its been awhile since I scrapped =) 46 - 50 of 365 TFL

The mouse trap LO says MOUSE TRAP When we ended up with a mouse in house, Paws & CJ were ready to track it down. The mouse was hiding behind the dishwasher. There is a hole in the cupboard under the kitchen sink where the hose from the dishwasher connects to the water. The mouse would come in and out of that hole, surely taunting the cats. The cats would sit in the cupboard waiting for it to poke its head out. I put a blanket down to the entrance of the kitchen. I didn’t want that little mouse running all through the house. Yes, I’m well aware a blanket isn’t going to stop the mouse – lol. The cats were protecting me from the mouse and they took their place on the blanket. It was all way too cute. I don’t know what ever happened to that mouse but I knew that cats would get it if they could. Thanks boys!!!

It was National Scrapbook Day yesterday .. I had to work. It really should be illegal to have to work on a day like that ... lol. So today I celebrate it =) Hopefully I will get lots done =) 43 of 365

Altered S

I did this altered S for a lady at work who does all our supply orders. She saw the one I did for my co-worker and wanted one too. Well .. that was about 6 mths ago and I'm just doing it now :lol: I put magnets on the back so she can put it on her overhead cabinet at work. The picture doesn't show it well but it is very sparkly IRL. TFL 42 of 365

Grandpa

Here is my card and LO for Rachel's "Stash" challenge for this month.

“Percy” Robin Percival Ingram (Norn)

January 28, 1920 – September 3, 1974

Unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to know my grandfather. I soooo think I would have been a “grandpa’s girl”.

I have this one picture of him and have collected some information from my mom and Aunt Brenda.

Here is what I have found out so far about him:

He was born in Andrew, Alberta.

His mother passed away during childbirth.

He was 1 of 18 children.

His father left his with their neighbours who raised him. Their last name was Norn.

He was married before he met my grandma. He had 4 daughters and 1 son with his first wife.

He joined the Military on December 28, 1941 and left January 26, 1946.

His Military ID# was M36909-RCEME.

He was in WWII and ended up having a toe shot off.

He then met my grandma in 1951 and they had 4 daughters and 2 sons (Bonnie, Wendy, Brenda, Peggy, Randy and Robin).

He’d have the kids sneak him candy, he was a diabetic and grandma wouldn’t allow him to have candy.

He drove cattle liners for a long time and then went to driving gravel trucks.

He had Pleurisy and had part of him lung removed.

He drank tea.

He smoked Sweet Caporal Cigarettes.

He made and drank Moonshine.

He had a great sense of humour (must be where I get mine from .. lol).

He died of a massive heart attack.

I hope to learn more and start looking into genealogy and working on a family tree in the near future.

On a side note, I have the organ his is playing in the picture in my basement.

Lisa K is hosting a "cheap and easy" recipe swap. Here are my recipe cards. My chickens were green and I tried painting them white but I see the green is still coming through (insert rolling eyes here) lol.

I forgot to get a pic of the journal card. It basically just says that Grandma asked for slippers every year and I so didn't want to buy slippers once again. I saw these in an email that was going around at the time and decided I would make them for her. At first she had no clue what it was .. lol Gosh I miss her laugh!!
