"Christmas in July" Swap

Here are my Christmas tags for the "Christmas in July" swap Rachel is hosting.

Kinda weird to be digging out the Christmas stuff so early but then again I see Micheal's already has Christmas stuff out in the store.

On a side note, my scraproom is just about done, finally. As I am on holiday's this week, I should be able to get the last of it done and pics posted. It's so exciting to have everything in it's place and to know what is where and not have to send an hour looking for what I know I want to use =)

Ooohhh the PAPER trail

I started the big paper sort last weekend and well it continues.

I cant believe how much blue paper I seem to have .. weird and I hardly have any yellow or orange paper. Also amazing how many different shades of the same color of paper there are.

Such a HUGE job. I have one last pile about 8" thick to go with the 12x12 paper, the smaller sizes should go pretty darn quick as I believe most of it is just cardstock and solid colors.

I hope to be done sorting and putting it into the scraproom by the end of the weekend.

Anyhoo ... got lots of blog hoping to do .. I feel so behind this week. Gotta work tomorrow as well .. blah ..

Butterfly Swap

I soooooo LOVE butterflies so when Gloria suggested a Butterfly Swap I could not resist at all.

I used this tutorial to cover these chipboard butterflies. I inked them all black first as I wanted just a bit of black coming through. I LOVE this technique and it gave me a chance to finally use the Pearl Ex a co-worker gave to me. They turned out sooo pretty. I love the texture and the colour of them. Pearl Ex colors I used were Super Russet and Brilliant Gold.

I cant wait until the swap is completed and to see everyone's creations =)

Sorry the glue shows a bit under the rhinestones as it was not dry yet and I was too impatient to wait - lol

Shout out to V and Sweet Pea Stamps

Congrats to my good friend V who is celebrating being asked to join the sweet pea stamps design team :D

V's work is just wonderful visit her blog out (she has some pretty awesome candy going on right now as well). Also, check out the sweet pea stamps and their challenges :D They are soo cute.

Update

I'm still chugging away getting this room organized. It is a super HUGE job that's for sure.

The following are sorted and back into the room:

- rubber stamps
- glitters
- embossing powders and supplies
- paints and brushes
- adhesives
- stickles and glimmer mist
- labels and plastic baggies
- punches
- flock
- misc stuff like staples, magnets, blades, paper clips etc

I'm working on sorting of stickers and trying to figure out how to store them .. not sure why this one has me stumped so much???

I will be sure to take pics and post them as soon as everything is back in.

I soooo cant wait til this is done and I can get scrappy again =)

Oh yes I am. After months and months of procrastinating I have finally decided to tackle my scrapbook room. I cant really afford to buy much more scrappy stuff now that I have a car payment. So, it's time to start using what I have.

This weekend I have put a total of 11 hours in so far and that was basically just to clean out the room and get the stuff into bins. I did end up moving the cabinets around about 4 times and man oh man am I super sore from that!!!

So, here are some pics of my progress so far.

Now, to sort through everything and then load it all back in to the room.

International Recipe Swap

Here are my recipe cards for the International Recipe Swap that I'm hosting. My mom makes these chicken wings and they are oooohhh sooo delish!!! The pp I used is awesome paper my friend Shelley brought back from Japan for me .. sooo pretty!! I made 1 extra recipe for this swap to send to my friend Christine =)

My New RIDE

Yuppers after driving the same car for 14 years I have finally bought a new vehicle =)

Ever since Justin got his license a couple months ago, I have soooo hated sharing my car with him. He is sooo excited to have a license now and all he wants to do is drive. I cant blame him however, it left me stranded at home most evenings and weekends.

I bought this new 2010 Jeep Compass when Justin was at Hal's for the weekend. He was shocked when he came home and saw it and even more shocked when I handed over the keys to my other car to him.

Other then that nothing much is new here. I was on holidays the last week however, ended up sick with the stomach flu for 5 days .. blah!!

Getting crafty this afternoon as I have to finish the recipe swap I'm hosting and it was due on July 1st .. good thing I have not rec'd anyone's swap yet - lol. I'm hosting an "international" recipe swap and will post mine later this afternoon =)

Grad Frame

Here is part of the grad gift I am giving my nephew who has just graduated high school.

It sure was hard to not put any butterflies or flowers onto the frame - lol

It was hard to get a good pic of the frame w/o the flash on so of course there you can see that darn flash. I outlined all the white chipboard with stickles but you may not be able to see that in the picture.

Graduation Card

My nephew Cody graduates from grade 12 this coming Wednesday!!!

We are sooo proud of him. He has come so far. He has grown up sooo much. I cant believe he is graduating already!! Time sure does fly!

Dear Daughter Easel Card

A lady at work ask me to do something crafty with this poem that she loves so much. She wants to give it to her daughter. I have been hmm'ing and haa'ing for months on it. I was originally going to make an explosion box and that was not turning out the way I wanted it to. Then I made those 2 easel cards for mothers day and thought that would be perfect for the poem. I
painted up this little box (the smallest I could seem to find), put a some ribbon and a bow on it (b/c of what the poem says) and I just had to place a heart inside. I sure hope she likes it.

Here are 2 mothers day cards I made. One for my mom and one for my other mom.

I hopped onto the easel card making wagon. I see these types of cards everywhere and just had to make one. The blue one I made 1st and something was not right .. it wouldn't lean enough forward .. the 2nd one worked out fine. I look forward to making more of these cards .. they are super easy to make.
